Top Ten (Five) Tuesday: Books Dealing With Tough Subjects.

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

I don't like or seek out books that that deal with tough subjects, they make me uncomfortable and really I just want to read for fun, but when I do stumble upon some books that do they tend to stick with me.

Some Old Favorites:

1. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
This is one of the first books I remember making me cry. When you find out the Bailey is sick it devasted me and I just didn't know what to do with myself, but I powered through along with Tibby and really enjoyed the rest of the book and series.

2. A Walk to Remember
I knew this one was going to be sad and chose to read it anyways, dang you Shane West and your adorable face.

3. The Perks of Being a Wallflower
I didn't read this one until college but it is such an incredible book that deals with so many issues. If you haven't read it yet you should do so immediately.

4. Dreamland
Sarah Dessen has a way of taking issues and their realities and making them seem like they could happen to you or your best friend.

5. Just Listen
See above.

  1. I have only read Along For The Ride by Sarah Dessen. I enjoyed it and really should read more. The Perks of Being a Wallfower is jam-packed with issues! I actually preferred the movie to the book.
